Gray Hairstreak

Gray Hairstreaks are apparently the most widespread hairstreak in North America, so it was not far-fetched to find this fellow in the garden. Like many hairstreaks, this little guy has a threadlike tail on the hindwing. The prominent orange eyespot on the hindwing is indicative.
