1/16/11 Rock Pigeon/Dove (Columba livia).
When I first spotted this guy on a rock near our neighbor's fence line, I was soooo excited because I thought, well, he must be a native Band-tailed Pigeon due to his majestic size and demeanor. Yes, yes, yes!!! However, after taking this shot and upon closer examination, I realized he was just a plain ol' Rock Dove/Pigeon (no insult intended) i.e., the typical Euro-imported, feral pigeon that you would find in droves in practically every city throughout the entire whole wide urban world. But since he landed, I had to record. Still cool that he came here, though.
