Sharp-Shinned Hawk (Accipiter striatus)

2/26/17 On the Zen arbor near the bird feeders.

1/5/13

Similar to a Cooper's Hawk except slightly smaller and more common in our neck of the woods. They are known to snatch smaller birds from bird feeders for some good eats. This guy missed his intended prey and looks slightly miffed.
