Along with the Pine Siskins and White-Crowned Sparrows, these are regular winter visitors to our area. There are several 'types' of Juncos with different summer ranges and coloration. The ones that come here are the Western "Oregon" Juncos (males have a black hood, chestnut back and rusty sides, while females have a paler coloration). Welcome harbingers of winter.
