California Thrasher

4/20/13 California Thrasher (Toxostoma redivivum).

These curve-billed birdies are common in our chaparral habitat and often come to the feeders for some good eats. Like their cousins, the Northern Mockingbirds (which also live here), they are vociferous and prone to burst out into guttural, whistley song, especially when perched atop some tall, branchlike object. Broadway is calling you, guys...
